So factory boost...

You get called 'educated', I get asked to be serious.
^^

Piss off.

Europeans take their automobiles more serious than N.A. and probably the main reason FI Focus' are not available here. The market just can't be big enough.

It's obvious.

wow.. BITCH AND MOAN!!!

I can't say I ever found the following to be a problem in my focus (2002 zx5)

extra wipe of the wipers.. sweet! it catches that dribble you usually have after hitting the fluid. It's never messed up a clean window on me.

rear hatch opens just fine while the car is running

pedals weren't too close together (I have wide feet, AND pronate too much to properly heal toe anyways).

armrest never got in the way of the MTX..

armrest never got in the way of the hand brake -- I've pulled it on auto-x once or twice to see if it did anything (not really considering it doesn't really LOCK the rears on the disc brakes).

Stock radio was just fine to read at the angle it was put in at in all lighting conditions.

stock fogs never burnt out, melted or otherwise...

gas tank gets you up to 6 hours of highway driving... I've only beaten that in a base model sunfire in my own experiences.

seriously.. what are you guys doing with your cars?
I love my Ford Focus. Brummmmmmm Brummmmmmmmmmmmmm(staring off in to space with a little car racing thru my head)
The one design flaw that irks me is the "Electro-mechanical" click of the automatic locks that can be heard in the next sub division. Can't they make nice quiet ones like every other vehicle.
Besides, it's hard to sneak away from your house in the summer when all the windows in your house are open and all you hear is "Swweeg clunk".
My wife catches me all the time.
Of course the loud exhaust is the second thing she hears.

:D :D :D :D
I really don't have a problem with my Focus.

my aunt and uncle think that they have a better car in their 04 Jetta, but I can't fit into the front or the rear of their car. i'm 6'1" and can't fit in the front of Jetta.

if your complaining about the focus you bought the wrong car then.

Misery loves company.

Why fix it when you enjoy complaining about it sooooooooo much?

I'd sell a car if I had all the complaints you guys listed. So why are we still talking about it? It's just a car. Get over it. It aint perfect nor will it ever be. Stop wasting so much energy on the complaints. Focus man, focus. :P

the armrest is sooo always on my way when i try to shift and thats with a short shifter....the thing is made so cheap so whenever i flip it back so its out of my way, but if i hit it with my elbo or if there's a big bum that #$% thing opens and everything falls out :(
You guys are missing the point of my thread.

You all are SOOO quick to jump on my back as "bashing" the Focus.

These are purely subjective issues I have with the car. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORKMASHIP OR BE BITCHING AND MOANING.

For Fu<k sakes! How many times to I have to tell you guys I'm over the "bashing" phase of my relatioship with this freakin' car.

-cheers.

So it's a design flaw that the armrest gets in the way of a short shifter? I'm pretty sure ford wasn't really thinking about that.. they were probably thinking about how people will be able to reach the shifter from the armrest position... and made it tall enough to reach.

And if it's opening up when the armrest is raised, you may want to have the dealerhsip check that out. That's not supposed to happen.

I would suggest that you guys in this thread don't bother looking at mustangs. The cupholders are useless on the MTX, and the passenger-side wiper sweeps to about midway on the driver's side, resulting in a line down the middle of the driver's side after repeated use... Oh, and there's no delayed wipe after spraying, which means the wiper fluid just dribbles down the window (I sure do miss it when it's gone).

Not to mention that the convertible top isn't one touch down (or up)... and the wheel sensor bands are single use.

Oh, and absolute lack of visibility on declines or inclines (parking garages!)...

My armrest is ABSOLUTELY perfectly positioned for me. I love it and couldn't live without it.

Obviously Ford wasn't building this car for Grandma to put in a short shifter :P
Y'know there's a simple solution to all you people complaining about the centre armrest blocking yer access to the shifter.

Sell your manual Focus and buy an automatic! Problem solved :D  I keed, I keed

What armrest? :iono:

There is no such thing as a perfect car, unless it is a new one someone gives to you.

I have an automatic, and I'm the one who mentioned the armrest. Like I said, there is no such thing as a perfect car. I've adapted the way I pull up on the handbrake. No big deal.
I am FULLY aware there is no such thing as a perfect car. I'm not stupid.

Jesus.

I'm crazy about my car. So crazy I thought I might start a thread about all the little things THAT I MYSELF NOTICED about the car THAT I MYSELF didn't particuallary care for.

I'm not bashing the beloved Focus.

 Maybe it's just because my right arm is so crooked that I don't notice the poor placement of the handbrake (It actually falls quite readily to hand, it's the release button I have problems with)

It could be worse, we could be using a foot operated parking brake :P

And now you see things from my point of view. Welcome. :)
^^

Nope I'LL NEVER see things from your point-of-view.

You're just plain skrewed.
