Yesterday, while in the Chiropractors Office, a young lady was asking all of us poor old crippled up folks, if she should by a Dodge Neon. As a proud owner of a Ford Focus, I HAD to speak up, saying that if she wanted a get a half decent relatively inexpensive used car, that has a fun factor to it, she should get a Focus. Am I nuts?
Nah.. most of us like and are proud of our cars and alot of us have tried other cars too and still went with the focus. Even knowing that the cars did get a few recalls and have had their problems. Not to say that everyone will LOVE the focus more than a Neon etc.. but i also don't think that we are wrong or crazy or that we made a bad decision. There's just something about this car..

And those who did think they made a mistake have sold their focus and have other cars now hehe..
Y'know why they call them neons right????

Because when you sit in them, you knee-on this...and your knee-on that etc....

lol maybe she ment SRT-4

I test drove a Focus in 2000, along with a Cavalier,Civic, Corolla, Sentra,Sunfire and Elantra. Best car to drive was the Focus, just was out of my price range for all the stuff I wanted on it. Put a rebuilt engine in the 95 Escort I was driving at 300K, drove it until 2003. bought a Buick Regal, what a mistake, bought a 2000 Focus in April this year. Focus is the same as the Escort, but better!

She was looking at a 98 or 99 Neon, for $3000.00
Someone asked her what was wrong with it.
I told her it was a Neon, that's what was wrong with it.
i personaly don't like those older neons....nothing is good about them

Amen, the later Neons may go like stink (SRT-4's) but that's only wehen they're not in the shop with the hood up trying to track down the latest electrical screw up etc...

NefCanuck
Or the infamous Stage 3 turbo shuffle :D

The Focus is the best car I've ever owned, period. I love it so much that when it comes time to putting the SPI to rest, the only thing keeping me from getting another one will either be the fact that the Focus has been discontinued, or that I need a slightly larger car (the Fusion).
I have to agree I love my focus, and when people ask me about cars I tell them out right, for relibility and money you can't beat the Focus in the price range or all the options you can get with it, after all the Cavalier, Neon, Civic, Corolla, Sentra, Sunfire, Elantra, Cobalt, Accent, Golf, and Yaris don't have 4 different body styles, with 10 different trim levels available for a really good price.
you really can't compair a neon to a focus, they may be in the same class but for the value your getting a way better car with the focus.

the thing the really gets me is that on a focus you get an indepent rear susupension, and in the GM cars you have to get a Grand Am/G6 to even see this feature. think about that.
I don't mind Neons really. My dad has a 2000, no problems with it yet, and he's had it for 6 years. Of course, he does all required maint and only drives it hard when I'm in the car, hehe.

I think he only paid $9900 for it when it was only a year old with 29,000. I can't really say it was a bad purchase.

Of course maybe we just have good luck with cars, my focus is an 01 and there has been absolutley nothing wrong with it. Ever.

Now that I said that of course, something majorly wrong is going to happen.. I better go check for oil under the car...
Ah
I think your Nuts
My two cents!
