why did you break the light ?
if you have a water issue with the tail light itself just do what ford dose and replace the whole unit.

I don't think you can fix that. :(

I was thinking of sealing the whole thing. Like allthe way around. Get a good thick seal. Might work eh?

If there's condisation in the light now...you have to crack it open, dry it out COMPLETELY and then re-seal. It's no joke man.
If you don't get the water out and dry the iside of the housing...it will continue to occour no matter what you do.

Well when I do actually seal it there gonna come off for a few weeks. Or possibly all winter and Ill keep them in the dry room I built in the basement.
How does one crack open tail lights. I would guess its very hard to put them back together.

Baking the Altezzas for about a hour and a 1/2 at 450 in the oven will take care of ANY moisture issues.......
Toss them out and put the stock ones back on.

Well the problem is that the stock ones have those Black covers on them U get on Ebay. and they have damage to to some one I never caught.
08-25-2006, 01:38 AM
I've unfortunately had those altezzas before and they are damn near impossible to seal, for some reason they always get moisture..... it sucks, plain and simple, even the fitment of them, they don't mould to the side back windows like the stock ones do.
I gave up on them.........

Yeah, the Altezzas have always been notorious for bad seals. Your best bet is a new set of TYCs or something along those lines. TYC makes 3-4 types of tails for the 1st gen sedans.
08-25-2006, 01:45 AM
My stock taillights have condensation in them.
08-25-2006, 01:45 AM
I think im gonna seal the whole thing. But its decided to rain here today so I am not even gonna both right now. Ive still gotta clean the inside of the taillight. I figure its gonna take at least a week to do this. cause I gotta wash the inside and let it dry out for days.

Well Mason if you do decide to give up on them I could suggest the OEM European Tails like mine, and I will tell you that their is no way for them to leak as they have soo much padding and leak proofing on them compairing them to the stock american ones...
I know Sasha has droped the price on them to just over $200, ($207 I think) and with the shipping from germany it's still far cheaper then a replacement TYC or Altezza tail light set, and you'd be one of the few people here in ontario that has them(3rd), and if you need help wiring them up I can help you, with a few different ways of doing it, and with or with out hooking up the rear fogs.

Sascha has caused a bunch of problems lately on various focus boards and isn't replying to anyone presently on FF.com (FJ.com also) from what I've heard.......
I am not sure but I wouldn't order anything from them for the time being. I know there are several members on FF.com that have orders in and have been waiting for months.
