So we're at autox yesterday, and there is a nice comp. orange SVT running.

He gets to the end of the course, and POP.. we didn't know what was wrong, but we had to push the car off the course. I thought he had blown apart the motor or something.

I see him later in the day, and the intake manifold popped off the head.

I look down in there, and its only held on by hose clamps? That is just fricking WEIRD.

It should be bolted to the head like all other zetecs...you sure it wasn't something else?

The SVT intake manifold has a couple pieces. the upper and lower are attached with couplers and hoseclamps


Its a pretty common issue

C-F-M makes a kit to replace the stock pieces. But ya, that's pretty weak. <_<

If I can track down the guy at the next autox, I'll have to let him know about the replacement part from CFM.
