Was looking around today at Innovation audio and krazy kileys here locally, was looking into new speaker, decks and subs. Just want some opinions from you guys on wat you have in your focus's. Key points here for the speakers.. I'm trying to keep it from having to be modified to fit the speakers. I wanna use the stock spots. Would like a compenonet set if I could find a place to mount the tweeter. Also options for subs and wat works good in a hatch(sealed ported) all personal preference. Just wanna hear wat you guys have to say :)

Pioneer Premier headunits = sexy. Capacitors = sexy. Distro blocks = sexy.

Just implement that masterfully-drawn diagram and you're golden. :D

Wait a sec - that's NOT a Premier headunit. FOR SHAME. :P

Bah thread jackers.. j/king.

watcha think of 5 1/4" Alpine Type R's? And will they fit without modding any door trims and such. Subs was looking at Cerwin Vegas, Phoenix gold amp, alpines ran on a alpine 2 channel 75watt alpine. and rear off deck. Deck was looking at the Pioneer DEH-7700 or the Alpine 9958 with that touch glide thing. As for invo, buddy of mine knows the owner so I'm pretty set there :D, And I've been dealing with Darcy at Kileys for years and I get great deals there as well.

Edit * Also if anyone wouldn't mind posting some pics of where they mounted the tweeters(provided they went compenonet) that'd be a great help*

Suggestions/ideas - MAlby7 - 04-20-2005

On my components they allow the tweeters to be mounted in the middle of the woofer without disrupting it.

Go with Orion...That's what I got in my car. It's sound awsome...I got all my speaker amplifed and it's crazy..and get the 10"Orion H2 Subwoofer and the 2500D amp by Orion and you will kill! Put you will kill you battery has well..put you will still kill!

Focusguy7676 (or some numbers anyway) had tweeters mounted in the A-pillars on his old car, you might want to ask him about that.

I'm not sure if the 2005s use the same size speakers, I assume they would but you should double check.

All I can say is W7, My 12w7 is in and it is ridiciously loud and clear. For the fronts I would go with Focal or JL XR or ZR. For amps I love Phoenix gold and JL audio. Ill have pics soon of the system, I still have to finish cleaning up wiring and the rear fill. Plus dyno matting which seems to take forever,

David

pictures need pictures....so bored at work.. and I never work :D

i am huge fan of focal speakers. won some sound quailty competions with my set up.

this isn't the best pic that i have of them, but it show where the tweeters are mounted.

they are pointing right at each other, and if you are a hardcore audiophile you'll would want this kind of set up. the imaging from the Focals was perfect, i changed the headunit and have to have everything readjusted.

So you cut the hole in your apillar?

Suggestions/ideas - FocusGuy7476 - 04-21-2005

cut it and used fiberglass, then refinished it.

Suggestions/ideas - Phantom - 04-21-2005

so I phoned locally here to find some pricing out.. Focal 5 1/4" comp for the 130v2's are 499~. Ouch that hurts. Door speakers may have to come later

Suggestions/ideas - FocusGuy7476 - 04-21-2005

So was looking for the wiring harness for my car.. came back with 2 answers one was 15$ one was 150$ depending on how ford connected everything. But with some relief it appears according to one of the install dudes kiley's uses that it's the 15$ one. Thank God. Since the Wiring package for amp I'm looking at is 120$ for 4gauge with rcas.

Suggestions/ideas - FocusGuy7476 - 04-22-2005

it should be about $15 for it.
