You clipped off the stock harness plug!!!! Thats bad...

NO NO NO .... The stock harness wasn't clipped.

The Focus adapter ( I guess is what it is...) is what wires are shortened.

Well then unplug it from the car and solder the wires to the deck harness done and done.

More F-ing Audio Issues - habmann - 03-22-2006

Ya its always better to solder the connections. Just twisting wires together they will eventually loosen over time. Personally i'd use heat shrink tubing over the wire if you're gonna just twist them together. It won't loosen over time like electrical tape can. Just my personal preference.

ah, then just grab a new adapter from ct... its like $10... wire the deck to that.. and voila...

Turns out it wasn't the harness. Although I rewired it, it was still cutting out when I reved the engine, went around corners, and hit bumps. Just for kicks I popped the hood and to my suprise / stupidity, the fuse holder was smashed and the fuse was hanging out.

A quick trip to the shop and 20 bux later we're louder than ever. I guess it was a win win situation, I got the harness re wired that I wanted to do, as well as replacing the fuse holder and tidying up all the wires behind the dash. I put wire coweling around the rca cables to make it easier to navigate behind there. I did a nice clean job if I do say so myself! :P

Cheers!.

I'm going to mount it to the metal brace that holds the windshield washer bottle.

I'll try to get to it this weekend.

Sorry not really following through cause I need to get off to work, but from what I gather you need a stock wire harness on the focus side? If so there is a silver zx3 and standard auto wreckers upic yard, and I believe the stock harness's are still there its about the only thing the people have not stripped off the car so far.

Too let people know it has no doors, no front clip, no dash, no pillars, no center console, no wheels , can pm for info on what it might have left. I know its a distance for you to go to get there, if you want me to check it out again I can, to see if the connectors are there and pick them up for you. I am going back to get some parts probably this weekend to get some parts off of some other cars
