Sweet,no you can run around ther like you own the place lol.

And glad to see Ford (Tommy Boy) in!!

Smitty was lazy when he worked for my dad and still is now, always having other people do the work and take the blame for him.

In a town of about 750 perminent residents you basically can run around like you own the place. The cops are at least 40 minutes away at all times. Probably even longer now that Burks Falls has a Tim Hortons now. LOL

Love FOrd, its good for the city! lets get rid of all the idiots in there and clean house!

this might be a good thing for my company as well, outsource everything! Tired of freaking union ppl slacking off all the time and then fall back on thier unions to save thier asses!

ITS TIME FOR A CHANGE!

Garbage, TTC and city hall on the short list for outsourcing !!!

Mo - when you guys actually see what has to be done to accomplish Ford's so called $2.6/$2.8B cut from the city's $11B budget... let me know when you wake up after hittng your head whilst fainting.

my company has taken contracts from military/nato and Ontario Gov and saved lot of money by outsorcing. It wasnt easy, but it was done. i've been working for a private compnay that has been working for lot of gov contracts since 99, i see lot of things that i can not mention. But what FORD is trying to accomplish is totally doable if he outsorces stuff!

thats all i can say. 23% reduction is not that big when it comes down to saving gov money Wink

I think you truly do underestimate the waste that permeates Toronto City Hall, not to mention the culture of "I'm entitled to my entitlements"

Hell, this morning I'm listening to radio getting ready to go to the doctor and a caller complains about Ford wanting to trim Toronto councilors expense budgets by any amount because "it doesn't really make a difference in the overall size of the budget"

Uh wrong answer and THAT'S why Ford got elected, people were sick and tired of the culture of "gimmie, gimmie" at Toronto City Hall. Dodgy

Exactly! as you said ppl are just tired of that money going to waste and not seeing any results!

My company saved 10% in the first year when we took over gov services back in 1999. That was buy just going thru the books without any cuts!

These days the private sector norm is 1.5%-3% profit + cost in operations budget. You will be amazed to see what that means in regards to savings. We took over buildings from Fed that had been ignored for 20 years but had huge budgets! these builgins were empty!!! But still being charged an operations budget! How the hell do you explain that????
There is also this mentallity that is called "if you dont use it, you will loose it!" well how the hel are you supposed to save with that mind? Gov can never save or reduce cost bc every year the operating budget keeps going up and up. They should be rewarded for saving money, but in turn the way its set-up they loose it. This system needs to be changed, maybe when Ford opens the flood gates ppl can see the waste and hopefully it can be stopped.

RE: Toronto's next mayor - moon111 - 10-27-2010

Not being from Toronto, I really don't care who the mayor is. But just looking at this Ford guy makes me think greasy. Looks like a guy who'd own a porn store or strip club or something. I had a similar feeling about Bill Clinton, but predicted an illegal immigrant maid that he'd have an affair with.

RE: Toronto's next mayor - NOS2Go4Me - 10-27-2010

As I said to a buddy on FB who I haven't seen in years, "I hope to hell you're right".

Enjoy your new robo-Mayor. Let's hope he's lost his belliegerence and distaste for intelligent discourse.
