What I paid for beer was 19.99 at Tops(get the card and buy groceries that are on sale) plus 1.50 deposit and about $2 in tax at the store. I pay about $12 per 30 pack case at the border. Whether it's a 28 pack of bottles, a 24 or a 30 pack, I find the border charges me the same tax rate. But, I should have bought the beer at Walmart as they had it for $18.99(coors and blue products). Now just remember to not open them until you get them nice and cold at home.

The beer Ken bought is imported from Canada and is the same beer you buy and enjoy here in Canada(although Ken, Canadian is a terrible beer)

Great as a matter of fact. I bought 30 cans of Canadian at Tops for 19.99 and got some Bonus points I can use towards future gas purchases.

Now having said that I went to Tops first and Sam's Club later - Sam's price is now 19.46 per 30 cans LOL - so technically lower. Either way it's a win because as you pointed out, even with the extra you pay at the border it's still a lot lower than here.

Actually now that I think of it - that beer was actually free if you consider the 50 bucks I saved on tile and adhesive.

Well I am down there every two weeks sometimes once a week so hopefully expiry won't be a problem.

In addition to making sure I'm on fumes I also take down four 5 gallon gas cans so yeah, saving on gas is a big part of the value of going down. Even at 4.09 a gallon for 93 that's still just 1.05 per litre compared to 1.40 here for 92.

I sometimes drive by Smokin Joes on my way between Sams Club and Lewiston but frankly was concerned about the idea of buying no-name gas - obviously you've never experienced any problems with it.
