Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - Canadian ST - 08-29-2008 No matter if its 10 or 11in rear disks they will work so much better then those stock drums. Everyday I get in my car I miss my 07 ST, those rear disks made alot of difference in stopping power (and helped control noise dive) Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - mpcv2000 - 08-29-2008 I did that conversion a while back on my 03 ZX3 and love it. My 00 ZX3 still have the rear drums and when I change cars I see the difference right away. I never said it was for sure lol. Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - ZTWsquared - 08-29-2008 Just so there's no confusion about what's included with this kit ... let's review the OE disc brake stats ... and I reviewed these with three different sources so I feel pretty confident about the accuracy: Focus 00-04 (not SVT) Front disc: 10.2" Rear disc: 10.0" (these were available with AdvancTrac) 02-04 SVT Front disc: 11.8" Rear disc: 11.0" 05-07 (and I'm pretty sure 08 and 09) Front disc: 10.9" Rear disc: 10.0" (ST and cars with AdvancTrac) The discs included with this kit are those from the SVT ... 11.0" ... and all the other pieces are also SVT, with the exception of the 2 rear flex hoses, which are the same as used on non-SVT rear disc brake setups. So these brakes will not fit under 14" wheels and possibly not even 15" ... Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - grahama - 01-31-2009 Bringing this thread back from the edge of extinction, is this pricing available on the front SVT kit? (acknowledging the drop in the Cdn $ since the summer!) Basically yes ... these are heavy kits though and I'll have to see what the shipping to Vancouver is and whether or not it makes sense for you. Is it for the 2003? Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - drunkinmonkey - 02-01-2009 wooot i cant wait to get mine on thanks agian ken :D Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - grahama - 04-14-2009 ZTWsquared,Jan 31 2009, 04:01 AM Wrote:Basically yes ... these are heavy kits though and I'll have to see what the shipping to Vancouver is and whether or not it makes sense for you. Oh sorry Ken. Yes, it's for the 2003! (duh, delay :) ) Maybe I could get pricing for the front and full kit Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - GFXjamie - 04-21-2009 How much is the kit now with the Canadian where it sits? I will most likely be doing this conversion over the summer so i would like a price as close to the pin so i can plan ahead Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - shadowzx3 - 05-09-2009 GFXjamie,Apr 20 2009, 12:53 PM Wrote:How much is the kit now with the Canadian where it sits? I will most likely be doing this conversion over the summer so i would like a price as close to the pin so i can plan ahead Hey, So I talked to a guy at Dixie Ford today, and he quoted me $715, taxes in. That works out to be 715/1.13 = $632+tax just for anyone looking for pre-tax comparison. Given I have the cash flow, looks like something I'll be getting as my back brakes need replacing regardless. Anyone know how much something like that would end up costing in just parts alone? Curious to see how much of an extra cost it would be. Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - Scorcher000 - 05-11-2009 Wow thats amazing because when any of us went and priced it out. It was roughly $1400 before tax. I still like dealing with Ken, if he srews you over he does it with a smile. Jks... Kens a great seller. Gee - thanks John - I owe you one. Although it looks like the dealers here are getting a bit more "real" about their Ford Motorsports pricing, Dixie still isn't the best deal around. More about this tomorrow. I will most likely be doing this conversion over the summer so i would like a price as close to the pin so i can plan ahead what i actually mean't, was how much would changing rear drum brakes cost in total. Like shoes, drums, etc... My shoes are quite old and definitely need a change as well as everything else. Anyone have any ideas on a total cost for all that? Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - Scorcher000 - 05-11-2009 My Price is $280 for Raybestes. But you won't be able to get it for that. Maybe $350, then 1-2 hours worth of labour, not too sure. The braking difference is threw the roof. The drumbs suck majorly for performance and even just normal drivability. In the winter time the drumbs always made the front lock up, but now the rears lock up and dig into the snow to stop the car in half the distance. I will most likely be doing this conversion over the summer so i would like a price as close to the pin so i can plan ahead There's two numbers you need to get from Dixie Ford in terms of Ford Racing parts, and if you don't talk to the right person you'll be misinformed. The two prices are the kit price and the price to get it from the US up to Canada a.k.a. "shipping from US" price. In any event, you may want to check your sources at Dixie Ford ... I just got off the phone with Sean (the Motorsports parts expert there) and here's what he confirmed: M2300SVTR (rear SVT set) = 770.00 + 135.00 shipping = 905.00 + taxes = 1022.65 M2300SVTF4 (SVT front conversion) = 854.00 + 195.00 shipping = 1049.00 + taxes = 1185.37. I'm all in favour of everyone on here sharing information to help us all get the best prices on stuff - ... but if you're going to do that please take the time and effort to get your info right. Time and time again I see posts that say "oh yeah, you can get it for such and such a price at [insert name here]" only to find in one phone call that the info is either outright incorrect or at best incomplete. For example, quoting a price in US dollars without determining the extra shipping, duty and taxes etc is next to useless. Now ... I don't know how you came to believe that you can get an SVT rear brake kit for 632 + taxes at Dixie, but it simply isn't true ... and if someone quoted you that price and they are willing to live with it, I'd say buy a dozen right now. And finally ... I like Dixie Ford parts and I like the fact that they support the SVTOA and that they support Ford Racing parts ... I have the utmost respect for the Hogans and everyone who works there ... but that doesn't change the fact that, for me, they are exceptionally expensive compared to pricing in the US. And so to that point, here's what I can sell the exact same kits for, importing them from the US myself and making a small profit to boot (and yes, it's higher than my price in post #1, but that was from August last year and the exchange is considerably different now.) M2300SVTR = 739 CAD including taxes etc (that's a savings of 284.00 or 27%) M2300SVTF4 = 865 CAD including taxes etc (that's a savings of 320.00 or 27%) Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - montum_81 - 05-22-2009 hi sir, do you have a picture on step by step procedure on how you convert your drum to disc on this kit. thnx in advance. Frpp Rear Disk Brake Conversion Kit - zx5ye - 06-12-2009 alright, im just trying to figure for myself now, maybe im wrong or misread something, but look front non -svts have 10.2 disc right, but now when you do rear SVT conversion (this kit from my understanding) you will get 11" discs, so usually 70% of the braking power is in front, so what would happen now with rear discs being bigger? every time you emergency brake you will be spinning like crazy? or you get some kinda smaller pads with them? |
