RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - NOS2Go4Me - 07-05-2011 Nice! Hopefully that wakes it up even more and stiffens it nicely! RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - MuskokaZX3 - 07-15-2011 K... Still tryin to decide on some rims but it's a hard decision for me on which ones I wanna drop 1500 on.... I've got it down to two now for sure... Choice 1: Sparco Assetto Gara 17x7 42mm offset 5.62" backspacing 17.9lbs ![]() Choice 2: Kazera KZ-P 17x7.5 45mm offset 6.02" backspacing 18.8 lbs ![]() I'm kinda leaning towards the kazeras with more width and I like how the spokes are meatier than the sparcos! Let me know what your thinking... Both are on tire rack if you want a little more info on em. How important is the name-brand ... or are you just going for the look. RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - MuskokaZX3 - 07-15-2011 Not too important really... Want em to look good and last... And look like those^^^ lol RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - reldridge - 07-15-2011 the Sparcos will fit more 'flush' with your fenders than the Kazeras. Plus, their lighter. Too bad their narrower. ![]() edit: whoops, the width will make up for the offset difference. Comes down to tire size for me then. RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - MuskokaZX3 - 07-15-2011 The recommended tire size is 205-50-r17... What other size could I run? RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - Oscar The Grouch - 07-16-2011 215 45/17 is what I run. small bit of rub but can be fixed with a little more camber and light fender roll. I run 205/45-17 which has the same diameter as my stock 15" tire setup(although the SVT 17" tire size is a little bit larger), but here some other focus friendly sizes with the diameter listed: 175/70-14...23.8" 185/70-14...24.3" 185/65-14...23.5" OE size 195/65-14...24.0" 195/60-14...23.2" 205/60-14...23.7" 215/60-14...24.2" 195/60-15...24.2" OE size 205/55-15...23.9" 205/50-15...23.0" 215/50-15...23.4" 215/55-15...24.3" 225/50-15...24.0" 195/50-16...23.5" 205/45-16...23.4" 205/50-16...24.2" OE size 205/55-16...25.0" 215/45-16...23.7" 205/40-17...23.5" 205/45-17...24.2" 215/40-17...23.9" 215/45-17...24.6" OE size 215/35-18...23.9" 215/40-18...24.6" RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - MuskokaZX3 - 07-16-2011 Worked at professional tire in north bay for a year but I totally forget which number means what... Is it diameter/sidewall/rim size? Well I know rim size lmao RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - ZTWsquared - 07-16-2011 (07-16-2011, 06:08 AM)MuskokaZX3 Wrote: Worked at professional tire in north bay for a year but I totally forget which number means what... Is it diameter/sidewall/rim size? eg: 205 = tire width in mm 50 = tire sidewall height as a percentage of tire width ... 50% = 102.5mm and yes, rim size is still in inches. RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - MuskokaZX3 - 07-16-2011 So a 215/40/17 would be a wider smaller sidewall tire than a 205/50/17? RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - reldridge - 07-16-2011 Yep, you're right. FYI 215/45/17 is the stock size of the SVT, and the 17" tires on the 2009+ "EAP" rims. I'm running 215/45/17, with no rubbing on an SVT suspension kit... RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - Focus man. Focus. - 07-16-2011 215/45R17 it what the majority are running. I am 3" lower than stock in the rear an I only rub the fender liners with 2 adults in the back seat. With the kids and luggage I'm fine. I thought you were on an SVT suspension/drop? Also, I like the first set (that has the black inner lip) RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - MuskokaZX3 - 07-17-2011 No I'm on dynamic 2" or so RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - Mystake - 07-17-2011 I was talking to Kevin :p RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - MuskokaZX3 - 07-17-2011 Oh haha RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - Focus man. No I'm on the FRPP coils and Dynamic dampers out of the Ford Racing catalouge. Plus I pulled the rubber isolators out of the rear suspension. Before that I was running the Pro Kit. RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - castone - 07-19-2011 Id grab the Sparco's with a nice set of 215-45-17's Falken 912's (Falkens sit a little smaller than most tire brands and should fit without any rubbing). I have 215-45's on the rear and about a 1.5" drop atm with no issues at all, but I have a 205-50's on the front for now and it rubs in corners and bumps. When I was 2.2" lowered I ran 215-45-17 with the occasional rubbing from hard driving. RE: 07 focus ST updates and upgrades! - MuskokaZX3 - 08-12-2011 Ordered these today ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Went with the kazera 17x7.5 and BF Goodrich g-force sport 215/40/17... Already got an email saying they'd shipped!! Can't wait to get these ST rims off. |
