RE: PCV Hose??? - Focus man. Focus. - 07-18-2011

So I haven't cleaned my IAC yet but I have come up with a temporary soloution. The car would idle fine with the hose between the rocker cover and the intake tube was disconnected. I have soldered up a copper tube with a breather mid way. Tomorrow in traffic will be the big test but she idled fine in the driveway.

One thing I have noticed is a lot of air blowing through the oil cap when removed. What would cause such a thing? I off to the US sites to see if I can find this documented.

You don't want to hear this ... but IIRC lots of pressure in the valve cover means valve blow by.

Yes i know. I have been reading over at FF.

if your valves sealed that crappy to create such a pressure in the head your car would run like complete balls, like it had a bend valve (essentially a dead combustion chamber) which on a 4 cyl engine shakes like a mofo. also depending on which valve it was, you would be getting backfire outta ur TB or exhaust

RE: PCV Hose??? - Focus man. Focus. - 07-20-2011

No backfire at all. I have rigged a Clamp on filter inline between the intake tube and the valve cover on a T fitting. So far so good. But I still need to pass the E-test.

Passed the E-test today. Well below limits but still with check engine light. Good for another 2 years.

Happy Birthday!

Drive Scam indeed... HBD Tongue

After November that isn't going to be allowed any more. I was still way below the limits for the test. So I'm good in that respect. I'll pull the report out of the glove box and give you the stats.

I'm seriously thinking of using my cousin's address in Thunder Bay as my mailing address. My plates would be half the cost, and no E-test. Bell Canada registers all their vehicles there, why not me?

Car insurance.

How do you mean ... I live in Brampton where the insurance is highest in Ontario ... and anywhere in the GTA is generally a lot more than in Northern Ontario.

Hey Adam ... there's a business idea for you ... rent out your address for us to use for registration purposes.
