LOVE that car!!!

RE: Focus Cosworth (Update 4/6/12) - COCHYN - 06-05-2012

Me too Smile

RE: Focus Cosworth (Update 4/6/12) - 02_svt_guy - 06-05-2012

What kind of power does it make? Peak and DD

RE: Focus Cosworth (Update 4/6/12) - COCHYN - 06-07-2012

It's only a 380bhp + engine, no dyno results I'm afraid, just built a tried and tested engine like so many that have similar spec before mine Smile

RE: Focus Cosworth (Update 4/6/12) - 02_svt_guy - 06-08-2012

That thing must haul ass! does it oversteer much?

RE: Focus Cosworth (Update 4/6/12) - COCHYN - 06-08-2012

Hell yeah, it's hoot! Smile But no, no oversteer really now after setting the suspension geometry a bit. I'm off to Gatebil in Norway in July to see what it can do with the big boys over there Smile

Damn! take lots of pics and video's. I heard of a foci hatch running Gatebil with a 2JZ. just lights up the tires and gets sideways around every corner.

Popped down to see Jim for his birthday party and had the car checked out after it's recent sessions to Gatebil and track duties. Everything still perfect! Smile

Droooooooool :p

RE: Focus Cosworth (Update 4/6/12) - COCHYN - 09-15-2012

Sorted these out in the front lower grill, but not too sure yet as to leave them or cut a bit more of the grill and make them a little more counter sunk. Either way, they're there for purpose and will be more beneficial when braking.

No orange hoses yet, thought they'd come today Sad But made neat little brackets ready to just jubilee them in place.

RE: Focus Cosworth (Update 4/6/12) - COCHYN - 12-01-2012

Picked up on a few camber issues on the last outing on track, so bought these off Dan who used to have Saph YAP. Will fit them when I find my jack after the move

Also my top mounts that Mark's making (exactly like these). So along with my adjustable TCA's, it's all good Wink

Also MK Motrosport are working on a kit to convert from standard cosworth diff to a MK3 Supra diff, which is bigger, has a plated LSD as standard and much beefier Wink
Here's some development pics....

They have loaded all the CAD drawings onto their 5 axis machines and will update as the process develops. Material used is a 080M40 high tensile steel which is used for shafts and stressed pins, so well up for the job!

They've decided to make the main mounts that hold diff in beam from billet, which is a very high grade with high tensile strengh. Doing it this way, there's no chance of movement from welding etc, plus the sections will be very thick unlike bits plate but still lightweight being alloy, these will rummbled which is like deburing the surface and peening all in one stops any sharp edges etc were stress points could form then will be anodised for protection.

Mine ready to go on...

Some updates from Mark. He's machined the underside of the mounts that feeds the threaded section through the wing mount of the diff itself.

Main beam brackets complete, they look epic!!!!

Mark has done the CV flanges and fitted them onto his diff using a Cossie joint.

I'll be getting the first unplated kit next week to fit to my car since it's all ready and waiting to be fitted up and tested. I'll go out and give it some abuse, then remove it all and give the thumbs up.
