Tim Horton's Explosion - Oscar The Grouch - 04-03-2006

Geeze. Is that the one at Young and Carlton? If so, that's the one I frequent when I'm on course in TO. Thank god I don't have to go there as much anymore.

this is why I don't drink coffee...

to be honest, I spent a good amount of time downtown today, and I didn't notice anything other than it was sunny outside.

Your are a true urbanite Steve when you can differentiate your "downtown" locale with Y&B. Most would lump you in as collateral damge but I respect. I know and undestand where you are coming from. I'm probably 3km away as the crow flies but is might as well be a million, whatever it was.

My phone ain't ringing so rest assured it ain't "terror" related if you people want to go to sleep? Trust me, I get calls when it is.

Tim Horton's Explosion - 2004ZX3 - 04-03-2006

unbeleiveable, thats all I have to say.

Tim Horton's Explosion - darkpuppet - 04-03-2006

They're not sure of the guy's motivation, but it appears as though he may have tried committing suicide... he used gasoline, some rhumors are that he poured it on himself, lit it, and ended up killing himself.

however, it wasn't necessarily the gasoline fire that killed him, it was the ceiling collapsing on him, including an air freshener that did him hin (apparently).

anyways, like andrew said, it's most likely not an act of terror, but an isolated incident.

Country Style enlists suicidal maniacs to drop Tim Hortons stock prices... news at 11. :D

Tim Horton's Explosion - 2001 ZTS - 04-03-2006

It apparantly was the wires and batteries of the air freshener that made people initially think it was a bomb. No doubt the spray cannister caused concern as it may have been thought to be a poisonous gas of some sort. With Timmies opening in Afganastan recently and being long time supporters of the military who knows?

Tim Horton's Explosion - 02ztsian - 04-03-2006

Maybe he was suffering from explosive diarreah.

Tim Horton's Explosion - Frost__2001 - 04-04-2006

here is a more acurate report from CTV News

I can tell you that head office faxed every location cross canada, and we are being told any questions direct them to Toronto Police, and that it was a Flash fire not Terrorism.

Tim Horton's Explosion - paolo - 04-04-2006

This morning just before going in to work.. I decided to walk by some local Timmies over on Yonge/Dundas area.. Business was usual for them, if not, it seemed there were longer lineups. Imho, This recent incident is not going to deter people from buying cofee, but maybe they will choose a different location other than yonge/bloor for now...
