Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - dannyq - 03-13-2006 Hey, just like to get your guys opinion on what kind of car alarm to get. What would be too high of a price? What is the best place/company? What ones actually protect your car? Thanks! Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - focusonthis88 - 03-13-2006 I got the Compustar. It's come with a pager and it tell you when the alarm is on up to 800ft. I love it. Two way system with LCD pager remote shows me visually, if doors are open, ignition system status, and shock sensor status. Pretty much any Directed Electronics (Python, Viper, etc) are good systems and I have friends with them, all working flawlessly. Just my two cents. Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - NoiSeeVT - 03-13-2006 I have a clifford a little expensive, but really good, I have remote start on a std tranny which cost a little more, but it has 2 way. Your looking around $800 installed David Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - Tantrik ZX3 - 03-14-2006 Viper is the one of the best on the market , I have there LCD 2way and I love it 1000 ft range . My work sells them for $400 installed. Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - Scorpion - 03-14-2006 Personally, I think this one is the best. VERY easy install. They can be a bit expensive for the top models, but work extremely well, with a notification range of up to 2000ft. No need for a remote, as it recognizes you as you approach, and grants access only to you, as long as you have the special 'biscuit key'. ![]() :D :D  Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - darkpuppet - 03-14-2006 Viper, Python, Clifford are all made by Directed Electronics. I paid about $1000 for my clifford (Rs 2.5 with proximity warn away). Go with a shop you know, or one that's been in business for a while. I had mine done at Kromer and they'll do yearly adjustments on it, and did a good job installing it. Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - Euro Ford Fan - 03-14-2006 Get any DEI alarm and you won't be sorry. For the best protection though look into a Boomerang system I had it on my Focus because my insurance company demanded it but it was always nice to be able to know exactly where your car is. :) Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - nass - 03-14-2006 you don't need an alarm. YOur focus comes with a flashing red LED on the dash standard. :) I can say for sure that has deterred thiefs atleast once. Last place I lived at in the garage this guy had his civic broken into and gutted. His deck was not even that great and his system overall wasn't anything big. he just didn't have a flashing red light on the dash like I did. car alarms are a waste of money I think. How many times have you seen someone do anything when they hear a car alarm?? all you have to do is look like it's your car and your remote won't work or something and no one will care. Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - Frost__2001 - 03-14-2006 I have to say Boomarang it's like $20 a month monitering fee, and they can track your car if it's stolen even if it's parked underground by 70 feet, and 9/10 times when police find your car it's still intact and they find it with in 20 minutes of you calling in to report it stolen, or the car reporting itself as stolen. Looking To Purchase A Really Good Car Alarm. - Burnin21 - 03-20-2006 I got a Shelby alarm that I can get you hooked up with. Also Python alarm as well. The Shelby has 1000ft range with shock sensor bla bla bla i can get you prices and more info if you're interested. Send me a pm :) |
