Moldy Firewall Padding? - Fingers - 02-20-2006
Has anyone succesfully pulled this stuff off? How much work is entailed? Seems to have a lot of stuff bolted to it to warrant removing/replacing.
On a related note, has anyone bought one of these new? What do they run? I've heard of people painting them too. I get really discouraged everytime i pop the hood and look at that crap.

I work in auto detailing...
easy fix...go to crappy tire and get black dye and cover everything else and spray it black again...its not really mold..but yeh nobody likes green stains...

That stuff is just for sound deadening, just remove it and toss it. Thats what I did. Theres a few components on the firewall to remove but can be done easily. Then the metal clips that hold the mouldy thing on need to be removed and it just comes off.

yeah I have the same thing except mine just looks like it's salt stains almost. I was just going to paint it with fabric paint but the BBQ paint might be a better idea anthony.
