What do you guys think the best CAI is for the SPI?
would it even be worth it?

Spi Cai - NOS2Go4Me - 09-09-2005

It's always worth it, no matter the motor.

That said, I have no idea except to tell you to pick your favourite Zetec CAI and then get a rubber reducer from most hardware stores. The reducer needs to go from ~ 50mm I.D. to about ~60mm I.D.

Use two worm gear clamps and you're good.

Go with the Injen CAI it doesn't make any power gains really but it sounds really good. I have stock exhaust and it sounds awesome.

do any of them make any power gains? or shall i say... gas mileage gains muhahuahaah

Spi Cai - smith21 - 09-09-2005

intakes are suposed to make more gas milage due to better air flow, but with me, i notice less fuel economy cuase i'm always pressing on the gas to hear it :D

get one from ebay man. piping is piping..the only thing you would have to change is the cone.

Spi Cai - crazikev - 09-13-2005

i don't really know if i trust ebay enough to buy anything from them. like when you see
stuff like "headlights forMUSTANG/FOCUS/ESCORT"
or FOCUS ZETEC ZX3 ZX5 ZTS 00 01 02 03 04 AIR INTAKE SOHC

is there anyway to check the seller ratings?

and does DOHC and SOHC count while buying a CAI? by the sounds of it i should just get a TB and intake? ;)

I'll agree here, buy one from a selle rwith good feedback.

Piping is piping....paint it if you want bling. :P

You can buy any Zetec intake you want... so long as you use a rubber reducer as mentioned above.

Or, do the Black Diamond Racing 60mm TB install like Oscar did and then you're slightly larger than the Zetec factory TB anyways. From that point on, every Zetec intake fits.

i have an e-bay one, and it's lasted longer for me that my buddy's AEM CAI. Just change the cone, and enjoy the money you saved. And DOHC is duel over head cam(zetec engine) and SOHC is single over head cam (SPI), but if you do like what adam said, either will fit.
