Which One? - smith21 - 08-05-2005 ok, now i'm confused, i was looking at this pioneer on future shops web site, offers basically the same power as the alpine that i'm looking at, at this local shop here in sudbury. Now my question is, should i chose this pioneer amp, or the alpine? Alpine specs. The alpine amp is also a V-powe series amp, and can be found at www.alpine-usa.com and the pioneer, on future shop's web site. Thanks guys, any input would be awsome! Which One? - Mason - 08-05-2005 This is the first year Pioneer re-vamped the design of there amp. So basicly your buying the new proto-type. Ive hear a few people complain about the pioneer but Alpine Equipment will last for a long time. I would go Alpine given the choice. Which One? - NOS2Go4Me - 08-05-2005 Given Pioneer's penchant for performance, I'd take the Pioneer amp myself. Which One? - focusonthis88 - 08-06-2005 Alpine! If you want't to buy Pioneer go with the Premier brand of Pioneer. Which One? - Mason - 08-06-2005 focusonthis_88,Aug 5 2005, 10:05 AM Wrote:Alpine! I dont by anything that hasnt been out at least a year. Which One? - Oscar The Grouch - 08-06-2005 Brian, What shop are you thinking about? I went to Bianco's in Sudbury and the guys there were pretty good for Alpine stuff. They even gave me a good deal for a set of 4 Alpine 570 Type S speakers (5x7's) for the focus. 300.00 tax in i beleive. When I went to Futurescrap, they told me they had one pair of 5x7's in stock and didn't want to budge on the price, plus they were regular Pioneers. Dude, do yourself a favor, avoid Futurescrap for car audio. And stay away from Tire Crap has well! Which One? - smith21 - 08-06-2005 thanks guys..i was leaning for the alpine, but would have rather saved some coin for other things, but if you guys say stay away, i'll stay away Which One? - Drivesthebeast - 08-06-2005 Get a JBL amp. If you want an amp that will drive your sub without breaking a sweat, and also have excellent SQ reproduction. Only thing is, they are pricey compared to the Alpines. Umm between the two amps your looking at though...I'd choose the Alpine over the Pioneer. Also, you don't want Pioneer 5x7's...at least not the standard series ones. Sure they are stupid loud (or can be), but the SQ isn't there...well, to MY ears anyways... Which One? - scoobasteve - 08-09-2005 alpine all the way |
