if your check engine light is on because of a race header install, and no o2 cheater is installed. Will the car revert to some sort of safety mode or does the CEL make no difference on performance and only lights as a warning ??

i thought i read somewhere on FJ a long time ago that when the CEL is on the PCM is in some sort of 'safety' program.. not quite the 'limp home' program, but a more conservative setting than 'normal'
O2 is like 15 usd from mcnews.. might be worth it just to pick one up?

actually I ordered one from http://www.o2simulator.com cheapest I could find :D and I have some friends that testify to this one.

Jarrod, i've read a few times that the CEL does put the car into a safety mode. Not sure how much of the performance is hindered by this but it seems that it does effect the car somewhat on the management end.
