Fc Throttle Body Install? - SL8RZZX3 - 05-21-2004 Has anybody done this install? it says you have to bore out the intake?! i'm asuming it means the intake manifold? how much of a big deal is it if you don't? is it best to bore it on or off the car? and what is RTV? Fc Throttle Body Install? - Focused - 05-21-2004 you don't really hae to bore out the intake [otherwise known as "port matching"] it IS recommended, but not nessesary, and not a big deal if you don't. RTV is a silicone, which is used as a sealer.....a liquid gasket if you will. you can get is pretty much anywhere...we have it, ct has it, etc....get the blue one Fc Throttle Body Install? - Paparoach - 05-21-2004 Should have bored your original TB saved yourself alot of money :D Fc Throttle Body Install? - SL8RZZX3 - 05-21-2004 Had i known i probably would have :( i thought it was a quick bolt on  Fc Throttle Body Install? - Focused - 05-22-2004 Paparoach,May 21 2004, 08:02 AM Wrote:Should have bored your original TB saved yourself alot of money :Dtrust me ...i've had: -stock tb -bored out stock tb -65mm tb NOTHING compares to the 65mm tb......TOTALLY worth the money as for a quick bolt-on.....it should only take you 10-15min tops... i can do it blindfolded Fc Throttle Body Install? - Paparoach - 05-22-2004 Focused,May 21 2004, 10:04 AM Wrote:Your one of the few...... :PPaparoach,May 21 2004, 08:02 AM Wrote:Should have bored your original TB saved yourself alot of money :Dtrust me ...i've had: Fc Throttle Body Install? - Focused - 05-22-2004 Paparoach,May 21 2004, 09:26 AM Wrote:seriously!Focused,May 21 2004, 10:04 AM Wrote:Your one of the few...... :PPaparoach,May 21 2004, 08:02 AM Wrote:Should have bored your original TB saved yourself alot of money :Dtrust me ...i've had: ask sweetg ----he has my old one...took him 10 min :P Fc Throttle Body Install? - Paparoach - 05-22-2004 I know the install...I mean worth the money :o Fc Throttle Body Install? - Focused - 05-22-2004 Paparoach,May 21 2004, 09:58 AM Wrote:I know the install...I mean worth the money :owhen you have cams ...it becomes a HUGE help to have the TB.....at least i found... I personally haven't tried it, but I can imagine it would be really twitchy just coming on the throttle, and it's probably not the real bottleneck of the system near full throttle anyways. I'm sure it would provide more performance on a blown engine, but I personally am pretty happy with the driveability of the stock TB. |
