clutch/flywheel/differential? - konafocuswrc - 04-12-2011

should i do clutch and flywheel or all at once?
i am not sure if i really need for differential if i m keeping 250 whp range.

is there any recommended shop for installation??

Tranny's coming out anyway, so yeah - do everything at once ... and without a limited slip diff, all that hp will simply go up in smoke.

My red ZX5 barely had 200 hp and I couldn't imagine not having the torsen.

LSD helps for sure . Especially out the turn I have noticed that one wheel screams but I am not really going until I straighten up the wheels .

I would say no to lightweight flywheel, increased clutch chatter. When the engine is cold its tought for the tuners to play with the pot values to make sure you don't stall out. For what its worth the stock flywheel does a decent job.

I can recommend the Spec Stage II ... light pedal action (even lighter than stock BION) , nice progressive take-up that feels more precise and linear than stock ... and no problem handling the power and LSD.

And yeah ... x2 on keeping the stock flywheel ... probably worth the investment though to have it resurfaced ... my comments above about my Spec clutch was with a resurfaced flywheel.

I had spec stage 3 6 puck...and i liked it.

spec stage 3, hows driveability compare to stock?

RE: clutch/flywheel/differential? - hardk0re - 04-13-2011

Same as stock on street, it engages faster but you get used to it. Grips like #$#$#%$^ when your agressive. Clutch pedal was softer than stock, so it was actually easier to drive in traffic.
