Top Gear did a review on it and said it's an awesome car. If I ever got one I'd probably just keep it stock.

The stock 135 is a real handful on the track - too much understeer. I know a doctor from Oakville who, out of desperation, put his rear wheels on the front (rears are wider) and it actually helped him get around the track faster ... looked real strange though.

My friend bought a Volvo, they will do something similar; he went to Sweden to pick it up. He had to pay his own airfare but they put him up in a hotel and fed him. He toured the plant, took delivery of the car got to tool around Europe for a few days (including stretching its legs on the Autobahn). At the end he returned it to the plant, then they packed it up and shipped it to his local dealer.

Pretty sweet deal, wish I they'd offer the same deal when I bought the Stang ...

Hmmm ... free hotel and meals in Europe vs. free hotel and meals in Flat Rock Michigan ... not quite the same thing and it's not like you haven't been in a Ford factory ever LOL. You're just lookin' for the free food aren't you?

Which Volvo did your buddy buy?

Free food is always cool. I was talking more about a factory delivery for enthusiasts, I've been in plenty of Ford factories but it'd be cool to see the plant, maybe get a tour of the development labs in Dearborn. Anything would have made the ridiculously long 20-week order wait more palatable.

It was an AWD sport wagon (not a Volvo afficionado) so I'm guessing it was a 2005-2006 V50 T5 Turbo AWD. Looks like this:
