Point of interest - NOS2Go4Me - 03-14-2012

Ford finally came to their senses and started offering the 5-speed manual on ALL Focus trim lines and body styles in Canada - just as they had recently decided to do for the US. I was on the Ford.ca Build and Price tool this AM and was able to spec out a manual on the top-trim Titanium Hatchback.

Well ... except for the fact that they will charge you an extra $1000 to go from a 6-speed dual clutch "down" to a 5-speed manual.

I could almost accept it if they made it a no-charge option ... but to charge a grand to go down to the 5-speed while at the same time charging $1450 to go the other way in the SEL doesn't seem quite kosher to me.

What's the stock transmission? Without sounding too much like a Ford Defender, anytime you want to change something, it'll cost you money

The stock transmission on the S, SE, and SEL is the 5-speed manual.

That's funny, the price dropped $1000 for me when I ran the config tool - as it should have.

Hmmm ... maybe it's my browser. I noticed other aspects of their website didn't seem to like google chrome.
