Stupid Question - muttsnutts - 03-20-2012 I bought some supposedly lowering springs for the zx3 used off someone, I was looking at them and comparing them to the oem ones on the car and they have the same amount of turns on the spring, I thought if theyre springs to lower the car they should have less turns? RE: Stupid Question - Jmountney1 - 03-20-2012 i believe that the number of turns and the diameter of the steel would be a comparative to the spring rate on the particular spring. assuming ur lowering springs are a diff rate than OE ones its probably just random that they are the same. lowering springs are not just cut shorter springs. RE: Stupid Question - ANTHONYD - 03-20-2012 The compression rates are different too. RE: Stupid Question - arpaul15 - 03-20-2012 simple analogy- Try squeezing a block of sponge in your hand, and then try squeezing a block of ice the same size. Not the same right? Same way, your stock spring has a different compression ratio, and material, compared to the lowering springs. RE: Stupid Question - muttsnutts - 03-20-2012 Ok I was just looking at them and didnt realise so many factors Basically didnt want to take off the new OEM ones replace with the ones I bought and found no difference Thanks for the replies. They are KW Yellow Code springs so the guy said . RE: Stupid Question - 05blackzx5 - 03-21-2012 well if they are the kw ford racing springs you are looking around a 1.3 inch drop RE: Stupid Question - muttsnutts - 03-21-2012 (03-21-2012, 01:17 AM)05blackzx5 Wrote: well if they are the kw ford racing springs you are looking around a 1.3 inch drop Theres no markings on them just numbers tried to Google them but nothing. Anyway gonna get them on the car and see. I spoke to the guy I got them off again and assures me they will lower the car around 1.7 inches RE: Stupid Question - Focus man.
