svt suspension - Mystake - 06-14-2012

well, had the suspension swapped today

it's the 0.5inch drop, i did it mostly because it won't affect my autocross class here in Ottawa as my focus and the svt focus are classed the same... so parts are interchangeable.

Anyway,

I'm having a hard time seeing the half inch drop... anyone else see it?

besides that, woo suspension! and just about finished the interior leather conversion. euro parts for front end are going to be ordered within next couple weeks as well as painting the bumper (rattle can, I drive too much every week - the paint won't last a day without getting chipped. I'm talking 700-1000km/week). Dunlop Star Specs are on order, should arrive at Massena NY by end of week, I'll get em by next week, have them mounted and everything. Kinda rushing it, but should have the focus ready for the MCO Lapping School next friday, the 22nd.

I'm super excited. I also have yet to buy a racing helmet too! Still can't decide on what one I want and can't really tell from a 30 second test fit if the size is right or whether it'll give me headaches. :\

edit: the svt suspension was just struts and springs in front, springs and shocks in the back. I have a separate SVT rear sway bar I got off Kev that's going on in the next few days too.

When I had the svt kit on my zx5, it was night and day with the ride feel... but as for the look, it didn't make much of a difference. I saw the difference in the rear, it was more evened out after I had the kit installed, I always found the rear of hatches were always jacked too high.

Your zx5 looks good! You will love the kit no doubt.

i had the same issue with my car , the difference isnt really noticable... i even cut them down a couple of rings and still not very good. Thats why im thinking of getting eibach sportlines.

The SVT suspension is for guys who want handling in a properly-tuned way, right out of the box. If you want looks, you have lots of other options.

I've always enjoyed it on my Focus since it was completed properly.

Thanks for the opinions guys,

it is a night and day difference in how the ride feels and how it handles so for that alone im super happy. I got a set of star specs for the car too so we'll see how it feels altogether this coming friday Big Grin

(but yeah, I still can't really tell it's on but that's OK with me... goes well with the "sleeper" look)
