I read 200,000 kilometers. So.............does anyone know how to do it, and do you have the tools? The issue is keeping the cams in line while doing it. You need to either buy or make a cam alignment tool. It is something I have done in the past on other cars, but won't do on my Focus due to the lack of time that I have currently, and the need for a reliable car. I know it took the shop I go to about 3 hours, but that was waterpump and gasket too. They also did a whole whack of AC work on the car at the same time, while they were in the same area. If you have the time, tools, and the Haynes manual, good luck! Pretty straight forward, just take your time and you should be ok. Figure about 6 hours for a first time, without any troubles (broken or seized bolts, broken stuff, etc.). Ryan Timing Belt Replacement - oldeguy - 09-05-2008 I would think it's a matter of moving stuff. out of the way to get at the cover, then taking the belt off. Listen, I've gotten the alternator replacement down to a fine art, last time it took an hour from out to back in.
