DES PLAINES, Illinois — The 1995 Honda Civic has the dubious distinction of being the most stolen car in America, according to Hot Wheels 2008, a report issued Wednesday by the National Insurance Crime Bureau. The study cites an overall drop in vehicle theft of 8.9 percent in 2007, according to the FBI's preliminary Uniform Crime Report.

The 1995 Civic was followed by the 1991 Honda Accord and the 1989 Toyota Camry. The fourth most stolen vehicle is the 1997 Ford F-150 pickup. The not-for-profit organization said the top four rankings are unchanged from 2006. It also noted that the 1995 Civic has been in the top 10 of the most-stolen vehicles for four years in a row.

Older Honda and Toyota models are a favorite target of car thieves because they stayed the same for several years, making their parts more desirable.

The 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 pickup was the fifth most stolen vehicle in 2007, according to the report, followed by the 1994 Acura Integra, the 2004 Dodge Ram, the 1994 Nissan Sentra and the 1988 Toyota pickup. Rounding out the list, the 2007 Toyota Corolla came in at number 10 for 2007.

so does it make it a good thing or a bad one that the focus isn't on this list or is it just that thieves are stupid.

Don't forget that this is a US list ... I'll bet the vast majority of cars on that list do not have an immobilizer, unlike the Focus.
