Tire Questions - meford4u - 04-26-2008 I recently bought a set of rims. That's the good news. They are not for a Focus. Yeah, I'm probably posting in the wrong spot. Whatever. What I need is a new set of tires for the truck that will fit the rims that I now hope will even fit on the truck. I was told the rims would fit on the truck and fit the tires I currently own. They don't fit the tires so I am a little concerned about them fitting on the truck with tires. What I bought are 16X10 rims with a 4.5" offset. What the hell tire size do I need to look for. I think it will be a specialty size such as 31X10.5 r16. Help. I need it!!! Oh, I own a 98 F150 4X4. Tire Questions - Spinal - 04-26-2008 well my dads f150 uses 275/60R17 the other one he had i believe used 265/65R16 Tire Questions - meford4u - 04-26-2008 Spinal,Apr 25 2008, 11:19 PM Wrote:well my dads f150 uses 275/60R17 the other one he had i believe used 265/65R16The standard rim size for my truck is a 16X7.5. I am far from the standard. I currently run a tire(oversized) that is 285 75. And yes I know the speedo is out! Tire Questions - mister_bin - 04-26-2008 check the rims on the truck before you mount the tires and balance everything Tire Questions - mo_focus - 04-27-2008 take one wheel out and try the new wheel before you go spending more $ on the new tire! Once the rim is on, make sure its got the require clerances for that. IF you are happy with it then start searching for a new tire that will fit. 16X10 means its got to be 16 in tires with 10 width. So i would be looking around 255-285 maybe even more. Also use this site to see what tire you can use that will be ok with your speedo as well. With trucks you have to be careful, bc if you are way out then your tranny shift points need to be changed as well. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html original F-150 has 3 sizes, which one did you have? 1- 235/70-16 2- 255/70-16 3- 265/70-17 16x7", 5 lug on 135 mm, 14mm inset, was the original for 98 F-150, your new rim is 16X 10mmmmm i think you might be OK, as long as your offset is ok. Tire Questions - meford4u - 04-27-2008 After looking around, I think I have the answers. I have found that a 315 75 r 16 tire will fit on the 10" rim. 285 does not fit. I'll have to do some more checking first before I purchase new tires. Tire Questions - Spinal - 04-28-2008 my god thats a massive tire lol. i saw a lambo yesterday actually i looked at the tire size on the rear it was a 335/30 lol |
