I've been considering a change for my wagon.
Lose the 17s, pull out the Apex setup.

I'm thinking lift, comfortable tires, mub flaps, big non-street legal lights, something to protect the soft underbelly of the engine. Go old school Volvo XC.

Yes I know, no focus will ever intentionally be off-roaded but really it's no different than 80% of the SUVs and 4x4 pickups out there.

(out of pure curiousity, I will actually try and source suspension with lift over drop for the wagon)

i think what you are looking for is called the outback sport

IMHO, fwd lifted wagon is kinda weird (and isn't stock ride height lifted enough).. why bother.. just to be different for different's sake?

i had seen a VW golf like that in the auto show couple of years ago.

lifted, suv tires and it even had the spare mounted in the back. It actually looked cool.

I would say go for it, but it must be done tasefully rather then tacky!

I'm sure there's a decent setup out there for those who go rallying... but I doubt it'll be cheap (likely more expensive than the more common methods of modifying).

do it up Paris-Dakar style!
