Swapping Throttle Bodies - NikiterZTS - 03-02-2008 so I took off my FC 65mm TB today....and installed my stock one..... fired her up and the car runs like sh!t for a min and the shuts off.........it sounds like its running on 2 cylinders....thats how rough it is...... now i disconected the battery, tried different position TPS.....same thing wtf? could i just screw up the TPS by swapping them out? if i did....how much are TPS's? i need this car running for monday morning :o help Swapping Throttle Bodies - konafocuswrc - 03-02-2008 that same happened to me when i was low on ca$h.. you could try tps but i decided to keep fc tb.. not sure about dealer price but in us, they were about $40 range.. Swapping Throttle Bodies - NikiterZTS - 03-02-2008 i thought computer would have learned......but im not sure what happened....tomorrow im going to try install FC throttle body back and see if that helps.....but i really need my stock one to be on...... Swapping Throttle Bodies - Mike - 03-03-2008 Nick, did you reset the ecu ? I think that you need to clear the ecu since it has now adjusted its fuel maps and idle for running with a larger throttle body I would leave the battery disconnected overnight and such and try going for a drive the next morning with the ecu reset .... Im sure you've already done that though ... Tps's can be screwed up just by touching them funny ... very finnicky stuff .... Swapping Throttle Bodies - oldeguy - 03-03-2008 Nick, reset your ECU by disconnecting the battery for an hour or so first. A TPS is $75.00 for a manual transmission, $400.00 for an automatic. Swapping Throttle Bodies - NikiterZTS - 03-03-2008 i left it off for 15 min or 20 min will try longer but this is balls....i need to go to work in the morning it sounds like its running on 2 cylinders for a min and then shuts off....... :o Swapping Throttle Bodies - Black_ZTS - 03-03-2008 hey nik... you don't have to wait that long... just disconnet the battery and keep on stepping (press, release, press, release....) on the brake paddle ... around 5 to 10 times... this will reset your ecu. as for the tps, did you install it upside down?? Swapping Throttle Bodies - NikiterZTS - 03-03-2008 ok well i had to put 65tb back on...and it became normal again......damn this car doesn't wanna accept my stock TB.... no i installed it "normal way" Swapping Throttle Bodies - oldeguy - 03-03-2008 It's telling you it likes what you've done to it, so don't change it...... Swapping Throttle Bodies - NikiterZTS - 03-03-2008 lol yea but i need to sell it still.....looks like i have to wait till the summer.....i do have sell my ported intake manifold as well Swapping Throttle Bodies - Flofocus - 03-04-2008 Doubt it has anythign to do with the ecu. Sounds like you have some sort of vacum leak to be honest with you... Swapping Throttle Bodies - NikiterZTS - 03-04-2008 could be......the other day i also found exhaust leak.....thats just perfect,,,,leak here and there... |
