New Parts Came In! - Oscar The Grouch - 01-24-2010

Hehe!!!

After weeks of excitement, my care package from C-F-M came in.

Here's what came in:

- C-F-M camber adjustable front tubular lower control arms
- SPC camber adjustable rear upper control arms
- C-F-M Underdrive Pulleys
- Prothane Bushings for lower control arms
- C-F-M timing tools (not pictured)
- Focus keychain and valve stem caps (a nice little touch:D)

Next to order up are swaybars, some brake components, and a highflow cat.

think the control arms will make a huge diff? i'm debating on getting them for the summer.

New Parts Came In! - Oscar The Grouch - 01-24-2010

They'll be ok. Lots of guys from the USA have been using them for track and have nothing but positive feedback. What I really need them for is the camber. I was thinking about plates, but I've heard a lot of stories about the SPC plates and how they screw up bearings. With the lower control arms, you don't have that issue.

Right now, all I care about is fixing camber so I don't wear through a set of tires each summer. Plus I may be going with coil-overs, just not sure yet.

very nice...what camber are you gonna be running?
you should definitly look into coilovers brah

you would have fun at lapping even with this......this season you must come out

did you change to ss brake lines and dot 5.1 brake fluid yet?

Coilovers are next, after the swaybars and brakes. Probably looking at H&R's.

As for camber, not sure yet. However when we put the suckers on, we're going to set it up at full negative camber to see what it looks like and feels. But I think I'll probably have it set closer to -0.5 for normal use.

Brake lines will be upgraded when I do the rotors/pads and rear disk setup.

Tracking this summer is definite. :D

Aren't UDP bad for boost?
or is that just for s/c'd?

Looks like the SVTOA event will be on the large track at Mosport again this year ... any chance you could make it down?

Even if I have to rip the fabric of time, I will be there this year. :D

Only for S/C from what I heard. It gives turbo applications a little less parasitic loss and a little better throttle response with a couple of ponies added. The throttle response isn't as good as say a lighter flywheel or TB, but it'll help.

Please don't rip the fabric of time... it's such a bitch to repair ;)

Yea, with a S/C, the UDP would reduce boost because the charger is being driven by the pullies. With a turbo, Oscar's response says it all.

When I had my S/C installed, I had to remove my UDP. I could feel the difference in the throttle response.
