Sweet Jesus And All Things Pure...... - NefCanuck - 10-27-2007

Actually past a certain db level (which sadly I don't remember ATM) the vibrations would stop your heart

Sweet Jesus And All Things Pure...... - dlb - 10-29-2007

more money than *uckin brains ............ He should save up for some hearing aids !!

I had a buddy in highschool that ran 6 15" Pyle Drivers in late 80's Caravan driven off of 2 alpine V12 amps...he would drive upto a car audio show with his like sub-$1000 stereo, kick everyone's butt, and drive away with a small trophy and cash on a regular basis. He had to ACTUALLY tighten almost the entire subframe and other parts of the van almost weekly, as the SPL was too great for the damned thing...lol

Best I ever did was 130.5 with 2 10" PowerAcoustik subs driven off a little 96x2 RMS@ 2ohms PowerAcoustik amp and stock deck and stock 6x8's in my ZX3...

I think my little infinity is lucky if it can create more than 90db in the stang using the rear speakers as the input...

certified radio in edmonton did a geo metro with 8 12 inch subs and a fire trunck alternator. they say to sit in the car you need ear plugs and ear muff style ear protection and if they crank it fully it will make your heart skip a beat.

way do much money for a stereo. they did have a cool 32 inch sub that had had like a 50 foot wave. they said that the wave would come down in the back of the shop so they would turn it on and the guys in the back of the shop s tool boxes where rattling.

Only 1700 watts???? Cant Be.
Ive Got 3000watts Rms running to 2 10" Subs in My Zx3, and all that happens is my rearview mirror falls off.

Sweet Jesus And All Things Pure...... - NikiterZTS - 07-05-2008

i donno about all these way too loud stereos......im really happy with my stock :)

i defenetly prefer Go before any Show

Sweet Jesus And All Things Pure...... - malim - 07-10-2008

I agree with NikiterZTS. I am pretty happy with my stock and don't understand what is the point of getting crazy ass stereo systems. Can someone explain ? If it is something besides show of course.

Sweet Jesus And All Things Pure...... - focusracer - 07-12-2008

Me personally, I built my sound system up myself, didn't have a stereo shop do it for me. Some people would consider it "crazy" but I don't. I have 1 12" competition sub running 600w rms Alpine V12 amp, Alpine DDDrive componenent speakers with a Pioneer deck. It's a custom sub enclosure fiberglassed into the spare tire well, so I'd have my trunk space. The box is fully engineered for sound quality. I don't need to show off or have people hear me from 10 city blocks away.

I'm a dj and I used to make a living as a proffesional sound engineer for live sound and recording. I like to listen to my music at a reasonable volume, not screaming loud and I like to have good quality sound. For me, the stock head unit running about 30watts total and $5 paper cone speakers just don't cut it.

My system is built that I can have it cranked up pretty good, windows up, you don't hear the sub pounding away. Yeah, windows open you'll hear it but not like some of these "boom cars" that are around. Recently at a G2G a bunch of the guys who know my stereo coerced me into showing it off a little, one guy had a dB meter. There was a guy with 4 12's with 2000w or something like that, hit a 108 dB, he was the loudest, so I adjust my settings for SPL or SQ, it was still fairly crisp and hit 112dB. With some tuning and tweaking I know I'd hit way more.

Sweet Jesus And All Things Pure...... - Scorcher000 - 07-22-2008

Ya, that guy had way too much money compared to brains lol. I have 2 12" sony Explodes powered individually by 2 1200watt bridged Sony amps. 4 gauge wirering, 2 2.4fared compacitors one yellow top deep cell 750CCA, and a new 200amp alternator from a F-150. Plus I had to geta programer to change up the idle on the dam thing so it wouldn't dim down when showing off. And still I manage to shake the stock exhaust system off the car, right from the cat lol.

I used to have 2 8 ohm 12s in my car and when I had my firebird I liked them, but I was young then I sold them and put in 2 10's and I found thet they where still to lund but better, I blew one of the subs so I desided to just go with one sub in my car. I resently have been trying to make a custom sub box that will hold my amp, cap ,and sub and fit under a rear strut bar. I'll take some picks of it when it gets done.
