assuming you have some kinde of hitch on ur focus it probly has a plate on it that states max tung and tow weight. its probably pretty reflective of what your car can tow.
assuming the hitch you bought was for your car.

1500lb is MAX for all focus.
It is also typicall for most small 4cyl cars. That said it can probably tow more....but maybe not STOP more :)
Anything in and around the top range if it has trailer brakes i'd recommend a Prodigy Brake controller for added safety.
