Recal From Honda & Chrysler. - Frost__2001 - 09-15-2007 Chrysler recalls 296,500 SUVs 09/14/07, 02:41pm, EDT Chrysler has announced the recall of 296,500 2006 and 2007 model year Jeep Grand Cherokees, Commanders, Wranglers and Dodge Nitros. The recall is due to a an electronic unit that could delay braking while coasting uphill, possibility resulting in a crash. The recall was initiated after the company received a report of one accident. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler is also recalling 72,333 Dodge Avenger sedans and Chrysler Sebring convertibles from the 2008 model year to fix front door latches and locks. The news of the recall comes on the heels of Honda recalling nearly 200,000 Civics. Chrysler had the most recalls of any domestic automaker, by a wide margin, in 2007. Honda recalls 182,756 Civic sedans Honda has announced the recall of 182,756 Civic sedans from the 2006 and 2007 model years in the U.S. The recall ââ¬â which is a rarity for Honda ââ¬â is due to a faulty wheel bearing that could cause the wheel to fall off. Honda maintains one of the lowest recall rates in the industry. Earlier this year, a list of 2007's 14 most recalled models in the U.S. was released with not a single car from Honda listed. The details of the Civic recall didn't specify the number of vehicles recalled for each year, but if the list was re-released, Honda could now rank as high as 3rd for most recalled vehicles, trailing only Toyota and Volkswagen. In a separate recall, Honda is recalling 19,904 2006 Civics for a brake light that could fail. With Toyota ââ¬â and now Honda ââ¬â experiencing an increase in recalls, it appears as though the Japanese automakers are going through some serious growing pains associated with becoming so large ââ¬â the same that plagued American automakers in the past. Toyota had more recalls in 2007 than all of the domestic automakers combined. Recal From Honda & Chrysler. - cornflakes - 09-16-2007 haha |
