well i went and got my oil changed yesterday and the service guy was telling me that i am missing my bracket that holds the fuel filter. now i am wondering if i could use a zip tie and hold it back in place or do i need to get the metal piece for it?so it doesn't bounce around

U can use some exhuast straping or some zipties if you mickey mouse it.

You may wanna spring for the metal bracket. Zip tying it might be a short term solution, but long term I'd rather know that my fuel filter and the hoses attached to it weren't bouncing around, possibly chafing, leading to leaks and a potential Focus flambee (with at least the driver as the main course )

Yes, get the correct bracket (go to a breakers yard for one if necessary).
The fuel is under pressure, and the exhaust is not far away...one tiny hole, squirty squirty, whooshy whooshy, and, as Nef put it (I love it) FOCUS FLAMBÉE!
