Locking Lug Nuts - tetra - 11-10-2009 Anybody know where I can buy these in town? I would prefer not to have chrome ones, either a flat gray or something like that. I need size in 12mm x 1.5. I THINK Canadian Tire sells them but I'm not 100% sure. I want to get these because I've heard stories of people going down to their car in the underground parking at my building only to find it on blocks because people steal winter tires. What's weird to me about those McGuard ones from Canadian Tire is that you just need the special piece to be able to remove the lugs.. So obviously each design has to be unique right? Cause it just looks like a star pattern or something from the picture. But be clear that ALL locks are only a deterrent to theft, there are numerous ways to circumvent them. Locks are only meant to stop a crime of opportunity, from somebody stealing your wheels quickly. Without them armed with a battery-operated impact gun I could have your car jacked, blocked and tireless in about 10-15 minutes. And I'm no professional; but having to take the time to split the nuts increases the likeleyhood of getting caught because using something other than a tire iron attracts attention. Given seclusion, time and determination your wheels are gone. But they do work -- when I was younger I left for work in the morning, my car was making a weird squeek squeek squeek that got faster after I accelerated. I got out to find two of my tires were only being held on by the locks -- sure enough I found the other 8 regular lugs in my parking spot, they were tossed under the car after the thief (thieves) gave up. Locking Lug Nuts - Jmountney1 - 11-10-2009 i found my old mazda one morning half on jacks but all 4 wheels where still on so i figured i cote them in the act. 5min later after sitting the car back down i start it up and realize my cat back was gone. but what they didn't realize was that my cat back consisted of a fart can 2in piping and a high flow cat. so i found every thing but the cat laying under another car that was next to mying.
