I am replacing my stock header with a 4-1 race header. Can I reuse the gasket?[Image: IMG_1142.jpg]

typically yes you can, but its like $14, why risk it and have a leak? Just get a new one.

Alright cool. Heres another question. Is there a gasket between flanges?

Header Gasket. - hardk0re - 01-13-2007

Yup, but your best bet is to take the flex and head to parts source, UAP or canadian tire. Get them to match it up as best they can and pickup two of them. If they start asking what year car, etc just show them the flex and say its just gotta fit this. The guys that work where ever you go will sigh and come back with a big box full of gaskets.

Header Gasket. - NikiterZTS - 01-13-2007

yes, there is....make sure u get (buy) one

is that flex pipe only 2"?? or 2.25"?

Header Gasket. - hardk0re - 01-13-2007

Hey is that your car? The yellow one?

And if its not it looks like you got ports for EGT and Wideband on the flex, you best take that and get plugs for them also... unless you got a wideband and an EGT gauge.

When you say "match it up," are you talking about the flanges or the header gasket or both? And Its a 2 1/4 flexpipe.

Header Gasket. - NikiterZTS - 01-13-2007

Get the stock header gasket from ford, for the flanges, yeah you'll need to match those up right to the flex.

How would I go about plugging those? An I guess I wouldn't want the O2 in because I would get a check engine light?

Same deal parts source/uap or crappy tire should have the stuff you need. Pickup some copper anti-sieze while your there. And you will throw a CEL unless you got a o2 cheater harness.

SmokeBCBuDZ Wrote:What is the other hole for?

On the header you got two holes, 1st one put the 1st o2 sensor, 2nd one put the 2nd o2 sensor. You'll need an o2 cheater, you can buy one from steeda, its real nice plug and play or you can build one. (don't ask me how cuz I don't know.hehe). In the flex plug those two holes.

Make sure when you swap the o2 sensors from your stock stuff to your new header, you put copper anti-sieze on the threads so you'll have an easier time removing them later. Same with the bungs your going to put in the flex to plug the holes. They are probably standard size bungs that most exhaust shops will have.

Or had x-cal2 and just disabled it but it would have to be plugged regardless.
