Transport Canada Issues Latest Recalls - Frost__2001 - 11-30-2006 Transport Canada Issues Latest Recalls November 30, 2006 Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Audi, Acura and Nissan vehicles. 2006-2007 Audi A8 Vehicles affected: 234 On certain vehicles, in cases where a weak battery exists, it is possible that a low-voltage condition could cause the airbag control unit to improperly set a fault code. If this occurs, the passenger side frontal airbag will become deactivated, and would not deploy during a frontal crash. Dealers will update the airbag control module software. 2007 Acura RDX Vehicles affected: 38 On certain vehicles, the dealer-installed accessory trailer hitch was not welded properly during the manufacturing process. Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the hitch assembly. 2004-2006 Nissan Titan Vehicles affected: 2,500 On certain King Cab vehicles, wires in the harness routed through the rear doors and into the body may break, due to over-bending of the harness as the door is opened and closed. On the left side, the harness contains wires for the driver's seatbelt pretensioner, and on the right side, wires for the front passenger seatbelt pretensioner and seatbelt tension sensor. Wires for the rear audio speakers are also contained in each harness. If the wires for the seatbelt pretensioner and the speaker break and make contact, there is a possibility the pretensioner may deploy; if this happens when the seatbelt is retracted, it will not be possible to use the seatbelt. If one of the seatbelt tension sensor wires breaks, the passenger side front airbag will not deploy in a frontal crash. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the wiring harness with an updated version. Transport Canada Issues Latest Recalls - mo_focus - 12-01-2006 Very Interesting.
