Volant Intake - cornflakes - 11-07-2006

Heeey....i just noticed something. My volant intake has two gold screws
on the box at the top. When I looked at pictures of others volant intakes (mostly in the US...but that's where I ordered this part) they don't have these 2 gold screws.

What's that for? The instruction sheet doesn't even mention it or label it...its not even in the diagram.

2nd: i put that rubber thing around the edges but it was pretty hard. It's on now but i noticed it doesn't puff out as much as i see in other pictures....it's sort of in instead of standing up and out (to cushion the hood when it closes on it).

Did i install the rubber thing wrong or what?

Here's the pic of the two gold screws pic 1
Here's the pic with the rubber on after: pic 2
Here's a pic of some other where the rubber looks puffy and no gold screws on the box: pic 3

notice the difference.....and mine has gold screws and all the others have no screws there....

for the rubber seal ....try hiting it with some heat and soften it up ..maybe in shipping it took form to the packaging it was in....

It's for the Volant Ram-Air hood scoop.

the rubber doesn't look very puffy or smooth in the 1st pick you say it does... could be just a difficult fit...

Volant Intake - ANTHONYD - 11-08-2006

It smooths out!

Here is mine.
