Although, I managed to fit the cabin air filter for the Focus from crappy tire over the stock mesh that covers the filter housing... it's worked alright so far. EDIT: And here's a write up on how to get to that location here. I did notice a much cleaner car as I haven't had the time to clean the interior as much anymore, months without any dusting... and the car is so much cleaner than before I installed the filter. I actually checked it a week or so ago, and knocked out a bunch of crap from the element, reinstalled and still kicking. I plan on replacing it once a year.
