Computer Nerd Thread - scoobasteve - 07-28-2006 Hey Guys... Yesterday i picked up my fx60. pretty late at night so i didnt have much time for tweaking right now i have it running at 14x200 - 2800mhz. instead of the stock 2600mhz. With my zalman 9500 - on idle i'm getting 41 load 48-50. System temp is roughly around 47-51. (Board runs ridiculously hot: Nforce 4 32sli) With the FX-60 my ram speeds have dropped off pretty signifigantly. about 400mb/s from 5990 91% efficency to about 5500 - 84% If i keep the multiplier at 14. how high should i overclock the fsb/ram speeds and still be able to keep my timings at 2-3-2-5 ? Computer Nerd Thread - NOS2Go4Me - 07-28-2006 What RAM? Also, you might want to spin that multi down to 13 (stock) if you want better RAM OCing that coincides with better CPU performance. Overclocking at 14 is begging for a meltdown. Depending on the RAM, 12 or lower works too. From the timings, I'll guess it's an OCZ EL Plat 2GB kit? Also, what board? DFI? Asus? Something unholy? Computer Nerd Thread - scoobasteve - 07-28-2006 Ram is the OCZ PC3200 Platinum 2gb Dual channel Board - MSI K8N Diamond Plus. I'll probably put it back down to the stock 2.6ghz. but right now its rock solid at 2.8. I can definatley live with the temps (right around the same as my 57) Computer Nerd Thread - Aka - 07-28-2006 Is that the OCZ Rev2 stuff? That stuff will run pretty damn quick if it is. I've had mine at 260 MHz and seen online people hitting the 280s. I currently run 240 MHz at I believe 2-3-3-7 (instead of 2-2-2-5 like it is stock). I think I'm at 2.75v on it. So 240 MHz on the RAM, and a 20% OC on the processor as well. Didn't adjust the multiplier. Edit: my mistake. I thought you had the 1 GB set. I have the 1 GB set, my numbers are meaningless to you. Sorry. Computer Nerd Thread - microbunny - 07-28-2006 i got a 3800X2 ..should i upgrade? what? Computer Nerd Thread - Aka - 07-28-2006 microbunny,Jul 27 2006, 05:56 PM Wrote:i got a 3800X2 ..should i upgrade? what? That's what I have. Seems good enough to me. Computer Nerd Thread - NOS2Go4Me - 07-28-2006 Nah, you're good. The most you'll need in another year or so is an upgrade to 2GB RAM if you're not already there. Overclocks help too :D Computer Nerd Thread - scoobasteve - 07-29-2006 I did a bit of memory voltage tweaking... My memory scores are back up over 6000 again. I think i'll be leaving the FX at 14x200 |
