Motor Mounts - shadowzx3 - 09-13-2009 So lately the car has been driving quite different. I can definitely tell that I've got a mount or more than one on its way out. Engine even if warm is shaking quite enough at idle as well as gear engagement isn't the greatest either. Before I start getting under the car and lookin at the dogbone and the other mounts, I was wondering what exactly I'm looking for at the dogbone mount? If I held the brake, put in gear and started to give it some gas, what mount does that indicate? Also, given that they are all gone or some of them, I would just replace them all and do all the work at once and be done with it. I was looking at CFM mounts, does anyone have just the street mounts? Are they a lot better than if I went to Partsource and got their replacement brand? I would love something in between race and the stock oem feel. What do you guys suggest and thanks in advance! Motor Mounts - SL8RZZX3 - 09-14-2009 go with OEM driver & passenger mounts and a poly dogbone I have been in Hardk0re's old zx3 and on idle with all 3 VF poly mounts the car shook like crazy I have the Massive unbreakable dogbone in mine and i get the occational vibration front the mount Motor Mounts - Gabriel - 09-14-2009 shadowzx3,Sep 12 2009, 03:49 PM Wrote:So lately the car has been driving quite different. It links the powertrain to the lower subframe . But the mount is needed. Motor Mounts - shadowzx3 - 09-14-2009 now the question is do I buy the dogbone mount with the race bushings or the street ones? Are the street bushings stiffer than the stock bushings in the stock dogbone? Thanks everyone for their input. Do I buy the dogbone mount with the race bushings or the street ones? Are the street bushings stiffer than the stock bushings in the stock dogbone? CFM has me all confused :( Motor Mounts - Scorcher000 - 09-15-2009 I got the Mac performance one on my car and it is only rough at 1500rpm -2000rpm. You will really just get use to it. Just get one that will fit your driving and your car. Motor Mounts - GFXjamie - 09-15-2009 honestly, in my car its only vibrating me at like 700 rpm, if u have a tuner, just up the idle to 850 and ur good. i got a vf engineering one off FS Motor Mounts - tetra - 09-15-2009 GFXjamie,Sep 14 2009, 03:27 PM Wrote:honestly, in my car its only vibrating me at like 700 rpm, if u have a tuner, just up the idle to 850 and ur good. i got a vf engineering one off FS I looked at the CFM mount, for 2008+ it says for Manual transmission only. I heard these were useless for ATX? Motor Mounts - Scorcher000 - 09-15-2009 Not at all. My stocker flexed sooooo far that it opened up my header and flex pipe connection. Well worth it and easier to put the power down. Motor Mounts - tetra - 09-16-2009 Go to CFM and look at the mount. Select 2008 and it says (For 5 speed only) :( There's gotta be a reason.. Motor Mounts - ZX3_2NV - 09-16-2009 I don't know how you guys are complaing about vibrations I have a SOLID custom mount in the rear, Stiff poly on the passenger side and a steeda tranny mount and it's not that bad at all. For street use I would suggest the Steeda Tranny and passnger side but for the rear Maybe try CFM Street or VF because I snapped 2 steeda dog bones. Motor Mounts - GFXjamie - 09-17-2009 are u feeling alright buddy?? the rear mount is the tranny mount lol Motor Mounts - Flofocus - 09-17-2009 Make your own. http://www.sfldrifters.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50884 Motor Mounts - ZX3_2NV - 09-17-2009 Is that whats considered the tranny mount the drive side mount is attached ontop of the tranny is it not.
