Udp Belt Size? - Casper - 06-01-2006

Just got a UDP, but it came with a belt intended for a car WITH A/C. Mine doesn't have it, so I need a shorter belt...

Problem is, everywhere I look, I can only get part numbers for the longer units for cars with A/C. Does anybody know either the length or a PN for this?

It really depends on the part manufacturer for the UDP (set). How many pulleys? The overall expected decrease in belt length as reported by the UDP manufacturer?

The reason I say that is because I had the same experience. I had the wrong length from EscortFocus.com... they told em the right length, which was too short. GRRR. I ended up going longer than expected to get the proper tension on the belt itself.

You might have to measure the stock belt, deduct the amount expected, and then buy a few belts in .25" and .5" increments to see which one fits. Return the ones that don't.

Ended up getting the part numbers from Tony @ New Edge last week, and I installed my MAC UDP on the weekend.

Actually, 99% of crank UDPs are all 4" in diameter, so the belt size is somewhat universal. The tensioner will take up the rest of the slack.
