if you want stuff that will fall off in a year, get eDead.

Good Deal On E-dead (dynamat) - Honkeytonk Monkey - 05-29-2006

If it was installed properly it won't fall off. I read through the entire topic on the car audio Forum that started that rediculous rumor. Of course a guy that had just spent 4 times as much on Dynamat said he had used Edead and it fell off, thus justifying his purchase. In the years since they released Edead I have yet to hear a complaint about thier product supported with facts (unless we're talking about thier customer service problems back in the day... good lord the horror). Always something a guy read somewhere or heard from a buddy.

Did you know Foci rear wheel assemblies just fall off for no reason? Did you know if you hit a bump hard the rear springs can fall out? Did you know there is a monster in a lake in Scotland?

I warm the tar up with a heat gun before applying...It's not coming off.

Good Deal On E-dead (dynamat) - ZX3guy2000 - 05-30-2006

LOL..... your all crazy....

I'm definitely going to have to line my trunk when I get mine done!!

So if it is cheaper, and works, but I have to heat it before applying then I will do it!!!

Good Deal On E-dead (dynamat) - ANTHONYD - 05-30-2006

Actually, adding a little heat to all of this stuff is benificial when applying. It will make sure the tar sticks really well. I'd do it even if it was Dynamat.

eDeadv1 is known to fall off; it is not just one person that this has happened to. Ben Milne has even acknowledged this. and why anyone would want to get an asphalt based mat is beyond my comprehension.

personally, i would recommend RaamMat BXT60 or SecondSkin Damplifier (or Damplifier Pro).

I used edead underneath my trunk liner and unser my trunk dash. What's the big deal if the tar is asphalt based? Just wondering?

adhesion is worse, smell is worse, actual deadening properties are worse.

I coated the rear of my license plate with it (well, Dynamat anyways)... massive reduction on my worst source of rattles.

Actually, i'm pretty sure it's necessary to properly install most deadening sheets. B)

I use a small blob of silicone under the corners.

I never was into the deadening stuff, even though I've done car audio for quite some time. I got some Dynamat off my old neighbour, and we heated it up via a good old hair dryer and applied it to the rear of my rear plate and Oscar's rear license plate. For what we had in rattling, most went away.
