How do I change the fuel filter? I think with the zts 2004 focus the fuel filter is in the tank?? I'm at 45K so i need to change the fuel filter

not sure about the 2004 but with my 2001 it was not in the tank... it's just infront of the tank and took me about 30mins to change and I was taking my time. Here is a good How To I found just for you.

Its very easy... even if you dont have the proper tool to open the clips.
make sure you depressurize the system.

I've always just used my fingers to push the clips. its a real easy job.

What's the best way to do this ... use the shrader valve on the fuel rail?

Pull the fuel pump fuse, Run the car till it stalls, or almost stalls.

doesn't harm the car at all, how would it?

if you try to crank it for 15 minutes without putting the fuse back in then yeah it's not good :) my car took over a minute to run out of gas after I pulled the fuse I thought I pulled the wrong one for a second

Yup... I mean youre only idling the car...

Its not like youre gonna hold the car at 7000... till it runs lean enough to deto.
