Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - ANTHONYD - 05-03-2006 Hey guys. I'm looking at booking a Honey-moon in the near future. Never booked travel before myself (that's what producers are for :P) Anyone know a good place tips tricks things to look for? I'm looking at somewhere hot with clear water and in the price range of 900 to 1200 dollars a week. Any ideas? Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - torradan - 05-03-2006 we've been looking at sites like this: http://www.sunquest.ca/ can find some really good all-inclusives to Mexico, DR, Cuba (cept I can't go there) for undre $1000 for the week. I'll ask Michelle tonight, she is the "cruise director" of this relationship.. she knows where to find all these deals. Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - scoobasteve - 05-03-2006 http://www.redtag.ca they usually have some pretty awesome deals. Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - Oscar The Grouch - 05-03-2006 Puerto Vierta CUBA Cancun MEXICO Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - Euro Ford Fan - 05-03-2006 Get quotes from places like Sears travel, in the end the turn out to be only a little bit more expensive. Plus they usually give a satisfaction guarantee. Puerto Vallarta is in mexico :) Anthony you can try out, Sell off vacations , Red Tag vacations , itravel 2000 , or you can always look in Wednesday's Toronto Sun in the travel section they always have a few pages of trips in there. My 2 cents. If you're going for a honeymoon then stay away from Cancun, besides still not being rebuilt fully it's not for honeymooners. Anywhere in Cuba or Dominican is your best bet for a cheap vacation dollar wise. Oh and remember to take lots of pics, but not of you in your old speedo, as much as you might think we want to see that we don't. Trust me. Thanks guys! I'll have a look tonight! Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - Frost__2001 - 05-03-2006 well when I went out west, I used expedia.ca to book the flights and hotels when I went to BC with my dad 2 years ago. On the Negitive side of using expedia they got my Gate # wrong online and on the tickets, and I almost missed my flight to Victoria..... but luckally I was keeping watch with the moniters in the airport. Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - S2 - 05-03-2006 http://www.selloffvacations.com http://www.redtag.ca (usually a few bucks cheaper then sell off). I spend months, literally months searching for prices and quotes (including travel agents) and redtag was the best price. Sell off is who we actually booked though (Mayan Riviera) and plan to book for September and Febuary (2007) this year also though them. Travel agents suck, sorry but they do. Example, cheapest we could get through about 8-9 travel agents was $2150 a person, we booked with sell off vacations for $1430 a person. Times that by two, do the math, that's over $1400 in savings. We did the same hing...we asked a few agents and the prices were outrageous! However, I think with an agent, you have the peace of mind knowing that if there are problems...you have someone to turn to. You don't really have that option on line do you? Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - scoobasteve - 05-03-2006 Yup, my buddy had his flight screwed up by a travel agency. filed a complaint, he gets his next 3 flights free.. i forgot what airline though. All of these online booking sites have people you can call and deal with. There really is no reason to book a vacation the conventional way anymore I don't see any benefit to it. I have booked 5 trips online, even last minute when I have to pick up the tickets at the airport and not a problem. One time the travel company was looking for us cause we showed up a lil late from traffic just to make sure we had our tickets. Anyone Know A Good Place To Book Travel? - NOS2Go4Me - 05-04-2006 Well, we went through a local travel agency we trusted for the honeymoon. The owner was an old prof of ours from college... really cool guy. We paid the whole thing in cash (2 weeks in Punta Cana, DR) and never had one problem that wasn't self-inflicted  We're actually doing our 1 year anniversary in Ottawa this year, booked into a hotel via Hotels.com. We got a pretty sweet rate. We prepaid the entire extended weekend via CC... no problems. The one thing you have to watch about Hotels.com is that it will always display room prices in USD, even after you tell it you're a Canadian. Take the time to phone in the reservation to their toll-free number after finding the hotel you want, and confirm the room prices before ordering. Apparently you can do entire packages through them now, or so I was told. Personally, you're better off to get a few prices off the Internet and then deal with someone local to you. This way, if something's buggered, you can have a face-to-face. That's what I'll do again in the future, anyhow. |
