When there's an ebay listing that does not include the mounting bracket, what does that mean exactly? And a faceplate bracket, what is it?
Can I order the bracket through a local shop?
I'm looking for a cheap cd player for my work van (2004 Astro). Prefer something that will play cd-rw, mp3 would be even better.
Not really concerned with age or high wattage just cdrw or mp3.

the mounting bracket is the piece you need to enable you to install a single DIN (assuming thats what your purchasing) into the double DIN radio slot that the Astro van has.
and you can pick up amounting kit at any stereo shop or bestbuy/future shop/crappy tire

Do you know if the mounting barkets are universal or brand specific? Is it something I can order seperately?

ya you can pick them up sepretly .. just walkin into any bestbuy or future shop and goto the car audio section .. just tell them that you need a mounting kit for your deck, and tell them what vehicle you have.
You can also go to any car stereo shop and theycan also provide this part for you
