Shopping For A New Amp - Quick Question
#1
Hi all

I am shopping around for a new amplifier, and I keep seeing "4 ohm stable in bridged mode" or "2 ohm stable stereo, 4ohm stable mono" etc etc.

What does this mean??

2003 ZX3 French Blue; 25/35% tint; shorty antenna; apc clear corners; JVC MP3/CD HU; Sherwood 180W BP Series AMP; Alpine 11-band DSP with BBE processing; 4x Pioneer TS-A6870R 6" x 8" speakers; custom-made 4AWG engine grounding wires

I believe it means that you could opperate it in that mode and it will work ok. Some amps are not stable at various resistances so it will not function properly. What exactly are you looking for and what do you want it to function with?

find out what your speakers/sub ohm ratings are, then work with that.
