Might buy another focus im lookin at 2005 zx5 since I only had my 2006 for three years im wondering of any known problems that have arrised

Nothing out of the ordinary. Seized control arm bushings to bolts, wiring harness to hatch tends to have issues, rear wheel bearings in the drums go before the drums do so do a disc swap if you can find the stuff and that's all off the top of my head right now. Timing is chain and non interference motor iirc so unless it breaks your good til 200k

^^ word ... except it is an interference engine (hence the upgrade to timing chain) - if you can find one get an ST; you'll enjoy the extra power and the sportier seats and you get the rear discs ... and the sedan doesn't have the hatch-wiring problems.

ya only non interference motor is the zetec as far as im aware, maybe the svt but not 100% on that. only reason I know the zetec is non interference is because I snapped my timing belt before haha

Svt is not, hence the tons of cars parted out for bent valves and timing belt issues lol I have not heard of a duratec doing this even with incorrect timing unless running aftermarket cams.

Zetec = def non interference (despite massive amounts of incorrect info in many databases)
SVT = interference
Duratec = interference
Breaking the timing chain is not the only way to damage the valves in an interference engine like the Duratec. Jamie, I'm sure I've told you what happened to my '07 at Dunnville - every valve bent and lots of other damage - required replacement of the whole engine; LOL but at least the timing chain didn't break.

LOL I don't think I heard that story. Next g2g if we remember. You are right tho the duratec is interference.
