What To Do
#1
This year, my kids are asking what I want for my 50th. birthday. They don't have a lot of cash, but, I am thinking of a performance modification in the neighbourhood of $300.00. What can be done for this amount?

I would say UDP, intake, and for a little more investment on your part, exhaust.
Yellow 2000 ZX3 - Tinted Windows, SVT Air Intake, MBRP Exhaust, NewEdge Performance 2.25" Flex Pipe, Focus Sport UDP, SVT Bumper, Ford Racing 9MM Wires, K&N Filter, XCal2 ECU Upgrade, Shorty Antenna, Ported Throttle Body
190,000 KM (120,000 Miles) and counting!

Voliant CAI, I think they are under $300 now, I saw them listed at $250 USD about a month ago.
I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.

My Focus is a 2000, and the stock exhaust is still on it and in perfect shap (dam Krown Rust control ;) So I'm replacing mine regardless with a MBRP.

Intake for sure. More power per dollar than an exhaust, and proper intakes look, sound and perform AMAZING. Go nuts.

go with Volant bud.....it really blends in with the engine look and gives good gains for intake

Well I have to agree with the majority. Do an intake on your Focus. The first thing I put on was a K&N Typhoon intake system. The sound is good and it was very easy to install. Also I will be installing some lowering springs and an underdrive pulley in the near future.
