at least this sets up a grand final for Brazil on a otherwise crappy season, it's also noteworthy to notice that McLaren would have clinched the constructors championship with Alonso's 2nd place at Shanghai. Hopefully to shut up Ferrari one of the McLaren drivers takes the drivers championship.
Also I was watching a news report out of Portugal today and apparently all the McLaren employees will be receiving there bonus as tough they did win the constructors championship.

Hamilton's team wishes they had brought him in earlier. Duh.

McLaren has been known to push the limit on their tires, anyone remember Raikkonen a couple of years ago?

Ho yeah that was a tough call but they let Kimi have final judgment on that one and it proved to be disastrous in the end but it came down to points and the championship they gambled and they lost.

I don't want to make excuses for them but they were trying to bring him in within his fuel window unfortunately his tires didn't agree with that decision.
